Student Resources
VSU STUDENT ID - 9-digit number beginning with 870
This number is your unique identifier and must be used in communications with VSU faculty and staff. It serves as your username for Banner Web, the registration and fee payment system. You should find this number in an admissions letter or email.
- You can go to Banner Web Self-Service to look up your student ID.
- For student ID issues or questions, contact the Registrar at (229) 333-5727 or registrar@valdosta.edu.
VSU EMAIL - CHECK REGULARLY!!!
All contact from VSU, your department, your advisor and professors, will be sent to your VSU Office 365 email account. "I didn't get the message" will never be an acceptable excuse for missing deadlines and etc. Your VSU email address can be found on your admission letter or email. The first part of the email address, the PID or username, is used for some systems, and the whole email address will serve as your username for other GOML systems.
- To log in for the first time, go to the Office 365 homepage at http://office.valdosta.edu and click on the "Self-Service Password Reset Tool." Follow through with the steps to reset your password.
- Then, go back to http://office.valdosta.edu to log into your email account with your new password and username. It is recommended that you bookmark this link. Your username will be your entire VSU email address, for example: xxxxx@valdosta.edu. For extra help, see the Office 365 guides.
- Contact your advisor: Your admissions letter should communicate your advisor. if your advisor has already sent an e-mail to you, please respond; if not, initiate contact with your advisor using the email address provided on the admission letter.

Setting Up MyVSU
Valdosta State University unifies access to a number of online electronic resources through the MyVSU Portal link found on the VSU web site. This guide will walk you through the steps of setting up your MyVSU account and provide an overview of the key resources you can access with it. Setting up your MyVSU is contingent on what the university classifies you as therefore the new user guides are tailored to that classification.
VSU Electronic Services
With the MyVSU login, you will gain access to VSU’s electronic services such as:
- Office 365, which includes your VSU email and a variety of online Microsoft apps.
- Banner, which includes registration for classes, access your financial aid, meal plan options, among other things.
- BlazeView, which includes your online coursework access
- VSU's Wi-Fi service.

Orientation is designed to help you get settled in at VSU. Whether face-to-face or online, the information provides you with the resources and next steps needed to start your first day as a Blazer.
What is Blazer Beginnings Orientation?
Blazer Beginnings Orientation is VSU's introduction to campus life for new students. All students are required to attend an orientation session prior to enrolling in classes. Sessions are led by current VSU students and support staff, who are here to answer your questions and show you how VSU is ready to support your success as a new Blazer! You will receive your first-semester class schedule from an academic advisor, connect with Financial Aid, additional support services, and student life.

GoVIEW and Course Access
Your GoVIEW account will be created within 24 hours following your registration in a GoVIEW Course. To access GoVIEW, using the search function in the upper right corner of your screen on any VSU page, including MyVSU, search for GoVIEW. In the list of results, select VSU Courses in GoVIEW, which will bring you to this page. Once here, click the green Login to GoVIEW button above.
Please remember you will not have access to your courses until the first day of class, and your course access will end approximately 60 days after the end of the course. Be sure to download and save any information you may need later before your course access ends.
Logging in to GoVIEW
- Your GoVIEW username is the first part of your VSU e-mail address (before @valdosta.edu), followed by _vsu (Example: VSU email address jadoe@valdosta.edu will have the GoVIEW username: jadoe_vsu)
First-time login
The first time you log in to GoVIEW, follow these steps.
- Click "Forgot Password" on the login screen and enter your username on the screen that opens. Do not enter your email address.
- A password link will be sent to your valdosta.edu email address. The email will be sent from donotreply@donotreply.view.usg.edu
- If you do not see this email in your inbox, please check your junk folder as well.
- If you do not receive the 'donotreply' password link email within 24 hours, contact the eCore Helpdesk at 678-839-5300, 1-855-933-2673 or ecore@ecampus.usg.edu
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) provides an extra layer of security for your GoVIEW account by requiring a second form of verification. To get started, refer to the Two-Factor Setup Guide for GoVIEW. This guide will walk you through setting up 2FA using a supported authenticator app, such as PortalGuard, Microsoft Authenticator, DUO Mobile, or OneLogin Protect, by scanning a QR code and entering a verification code.
GoVIEW Password Security
Your GoVIEW password expires every 180 days. You will receive a password reset reminder to your email of record 10 days in advance of the password change date.
Password Requirements
- The previous 4 passwords cannot be reused
- Password must be at least 10 characters long
- Password cannot contain username, first name, middle name, last name, or org defined id.
- Password must contain characters from at least 2 of the following categories:
- Lowercase letters from European languages.
- Uppercase letters from European languages.
- Base 10 digits.
- Nonalphanumeric characters, e.g. !, @, #, $, etc.
