What is verification?

If you have completed your FAFSA online and received notification that you need to submit additional documents, you may need to complete forms online and upload additional documents (tax transcripts, W-2s, etc.). Please log in to https://valdosta.studentforms.com to complete your verification requirements.

What happens after I submit verification documents online?

  1. Your information will be sent to our office for review. Please allow 1-2 business days for the documents and files to be reviewed. If there are any problems with your documents, we will electronically return the documents to you and explain what you need to do. You will receive an email alert and text alert (if you opted in for text messages) with further instructions.
  2. Once your financial aid file is completed, the school often must submit a final correction/update to your FAFSA (if there are differences between what was originally included on FAFSA and what was provided during the verification process). Due to this, please allow an estimated 7 business days for your FAFSA to be updated and your final award information to display in your Student Banner Account.

What if I don't complete the verification process?

Financial aid funds (grants, loans, scholarships, etc.) cannot be awarded until you have completed the verification process and the Office of Financial Aid has completed the full review. Incomplete verification = no financial aid award.

Why was I selected for verification?

Verification is a process mandated by the US Department of Education to confirm the accuracy of the information provided on the FAFSA. All requested documentation must be provided before a student's financial aid eligibility will be determined.
