Thank you for visiting the Valdosta State University Office of Financial Aid's (OFA) web site.  We are dedicated to helping students and parents obtain the financial aid necessary to pay for a college education here at Valdosta State University. This site is designed to help you in this process and hopefully answers all questions you may have regarding financial aid here at VSU. Should you wish for further information, please contact our office.

Grants, Federal Work-Study, loans, and a number of scholarships are available through our office to help pay for the educational expenses here at Valdosta State University. The Office of Financial Aid should be your first stop if you are looking for information on: aid eligibility, Stafford loans, the PELL grant, the HOPE Scholarship, or the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The Office of Financial Aid is located on the first floor of the University Center at Entrance 5.

Valdosta State University's Federal School Code is 001599. This information will be needed by students completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Financial Aid for Summer 2014

Students new to VSU for Summer 2014 should apply for financial aid by April 1, 2014.

Students returning for Summer 2014 who were awarded financial aid for the 2013-2014 academic year should submit the Summer 2014 Application.  The Summer 2014 Application is located under our Forms Page and can be reached by click the button to the left marked Forms.

We will begin processing Summer 2014 Applications by March 10th.  Awards will be made  in the order the applications are received and can take up to 4 weeks processing time, so, submit your application early to ensure it is processed by the payment deadline.

Financial Aid for Fall 2014

Students applying for financial aid for Fall 2014 should apply by submitting the 2014-2015 FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov.  Applications should be submitted as early as possible once student and families have submitted their 2013 Federal Income Tax Returns, but, no later than June 1, 2014.

We should begin receiving applications for Fall 2014 by February 17th and plan to begin awarding financial aid for Fall 2014 by March 10th.  Electronic and paper notifications will be sent as soon as awards for the 2014-2015 academic year can be made.
