The media emphasizes that White supremacist and male supremacist ideologies are institutionalized in the media, which produce specific images, representations of race, of blackness that support and maintain the oppression, exploitation, and overall domination of all black people (Meyers, 1998). The analysis draws the conclusion that these issues of diversity are due to the lack of diversity in media professionals that are producing, writing, and ultimately affecting these media outlets, as well as lack of diversity in the roles that African American woman are offered to play in mainstream media. The objective of this analysis is to uncover stereotypical messages about African-American women in various media outlets such as sports, fictional and reality television, and hip-hop music. Why this happened and what it means for video game developers and publishers going forward is studied here from a political economic standpoint. The concepts of both vertical and horizontal integration played parts in how EA not only survived this fiasco but has gained ground since, and their control over a huge portion of the gaming industry helps show how this came to happen. Additionally, the future of the Games as a Service style of development is also explained and critiqued in accordance with its effect on an incredibly large-scale industry.31'
