Student Safety Ambassadors
VSUPD Student Safety Ambassador Program
The Student Safety Ambassador (SSA) Program enhances campus safety by providing visible, approachable support for the VSU community.
Student Safety Ambassadors are student assistants who serve as extra eyes and ears across campus. Because they are fellow students, they are approachable, relatable, and committed to supporting the campus community. SSAs are not police officers, but operate under the guidance of the Valdosta State University Police Department.
The SSA Program has replaced the Housing Department's former HEART Program and now assists with lockouts, noise complaints, and emergency maintenance concerns within the residence halls.
