Incoming Freshmen and Transfer Student Advising
Incoming
freshmen receive academic advising during one of the summer orientation sessions. VSU ATP faculty may attend the orientation sessions and may provide the advising.

Prospective ATP Students
You will be advised through the College of Nursing and Health Sciences Advising Center.  The Advising Center number is 229-333-5959.

  • In general, the advising center staff provides registration counseling to students for Spring semester starting in September and for summer and fall semester in February. Information will be sent to you via your VSU email address.
  • The week of class registration IS NOT the time to receive registration counseling.
  • Review the VSU advising checklist and the VSU Undergraduate Catalog to have an idea of the classes you need for the next semester.
  • You will need to leave space in your schedule in the afternoons for "Observation Hours" which are part of the admissions process.
