Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my previous courses will transfer into this degree program?
A complete official audit by the VSU Admissions Office will determine which courses will transfer; however, in the meantime, you can access VSU's Transfer Credit Equivalency Tool online. Only courses from regionally accredited institutions are accepted at VSU. Your OAT Academic Advisor will review your records in DegreeWorks to determine if additional courses can be counted through course substitutions, etc.
Your OAT Academic Advisor can help you with the documentation for up to 9 credit hours of experiential learning credit through valid, verifiable experiential learning (ACED 2940 and ACED3940). In addition, exemption exams are provided on campus and remotely for several ACED courses.
Visit VSU’s Online Readiness page which connects to an online readiness tool to help you decide.
Apply online at VSU Admissions. Please select OAT (or OAT-Online if you need ALL of your courses to be online) as your major.
Visit Student Financial Services for tuition information. Please note that e-tuition is charged for online classes. E-tuition is higher than regular tuition, but fully online students are exempt from some fees.

What are BlazeVIEW, GoVIEW, and Banner Web?
BlazeVIEW is the current online platform for VSU courses, powered by Desire2Learn (D2L). Online courses from the College of Business (ACCT, ECON, BUSA, MKTG) are offered through BlazeVIEW. Some online Core classes and some online courses in the ACED Department are offered through BlazeVIEW as well.
The University System of Georgia uses GoVIEW for eCore courses, which is also powered by D2L, but requires a different user name and password.
Banner is the student information system used by students to view transcripts, register for courses, etc.
Once you have been accepted by the University, have completed the OAT Major Checklist, AND have had your registration flag lifted by your OAT Advisor, you can register for courses by visiting the Banner Web page.
How do I find my classes in eCore?
Core classes are offered through the University System of Georgia's eCore program, which may use a differet calendar than the VSU academic calendar. Visit the eCore home page.
Classes offered online at VSU have section numbers like "IA" or "IB" and can be found in BlazeVIEW, which can be accessed through MyVSU from the VSU Homepage.
