Now that you are officially accepted, and ready to be part of Blazer Nation, it is time for you to take your next steps! 

 

Sign up for Blazer Beginnings Orientation: Blazer Beginnings Orientation sessions are led by current VSU staff and students who answer your questions and share with you what you need to know to be a successful Blazer! Blazer Beginnings Orientation is required for all new students. Registration opens on December 1st and is available in the New Student Admissions Portal and be sure to sign up early to select your preferred date.

Complete Financial Aid: Submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (available October 1st) if you plan to use financial aid at Valdosta State University. Add VSU's school code: 001599to your FAFSA. The Office of Financial Aid is dedicated to helping students and parents obtain financial aid to help pay for a college education. Our office should be your first stop if you are looking for information on grants, scholarships, loans, veterans' education benefits and many other ways to fund your education at Valdosta State University.

Apply for Housing: The housing application opens December 1st. Housing and Residence Life is committed to providing our students with a safe, dynamic, residential experience that promotes Personal Growth, Leadership Development, and Academic Success for every resident. 

Visit Campus: You've applied....you've been accepted......Come visit!

Submit Final Documents: Be sure to keep an eye on your admissions checklist for outstanding documents. These requirements often include: 

  • Final High School Transcript (after graduation)
  • Lawful Presence Verification/Lawful Name Verification
  • Immunizations
