Internships

Students must complete 600 hours of relevant work experience in I/O in order to graduate from the program. Recent Alumni have interned with a range of organizations  including Lockheed Martin, Department of Defense, Chevy, Kendra Scott, Georgia Lottery, and Valdosta Aquatics. Despite the pandemic our 2019 Cohort has gone on to work internships ranging from local opportunities to working with companies across Georgia and the rest of the US.

Title: HR Intern
Company: Altium Packaging, Atlanta GA

Summary: I worked as an HR Intern at Altium Packaging, a mid-sized manufacturing company with a focus on innovative and bespoke bottling and packaging solutions.  My work primarily consisted of two projects: A job analysis, and internal criterion-based validity study on one of our selection assessments.  I created a job analysis questionnaire which I gave to every manager working at Altium to update job descriptions for our 318 jobs, and ran statistical analyses to assess criterion validity of one of our selection assessments, and gave a presentation outlining my recommendations on how to best utilize our assessments going forward based on the results.
