Masters of Accountancy (MAcc)
Statement regarding COVID-19
As of April 1, 2020, due to the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, applicants seeking Fall 2020 admission will NOT be required to submit GMAT and/or GRE exam scores. Admission for these applicants will be determined solely on their GPA and full-time professional experience. However, if an applicant wishes to submit an official standardized test score to Valdosta State University, they can and that score will be considered for their admission. Admissions decisions made prior to this statement being issued are still valid; this policy is not retroactive.
Students may enter the program in the fall, spring or summer. The MAcc program has six required accounting courses and the student chooses four electives. The MAcc can be completed in 12 months. MAcc program completion, in addition to an undergraduate accounting degree, satisfies Georgia’s educational requirements for CPA licensure.
MAcc students are eligible for membership in Beta Alpha Psi – a national accounting and finance honorary society founded in 1919. Beta Alpha Psi sponsors a fall Meet the Firms event. Students meet representatives from many of the public accounting firms that recruit VSU graduates.
