How Women are Changing Legislatures:  Politics, Policy, and Process

Monday, September 24, 2018, VSU's Women's and Gender Studies Program Presents Nevada Congresswoman Dina Titus, who will present "How Women are Changing Legislatures:  Politics, Policy, and Process" from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Student Union Theater.  An academic for over 35 years, and in politics for over a decade, Titus currently is a member of the Women's Caucus and the LGBT Equality Caucus, among others.

Women are running for public office in record numbers since 2016.  Nevada Congresswoman Dina Titus--originally from Thomasville, Valdosta, and Tifton--discusses how women are prioritizing neglected issues such as childcare and healthcare; how they are changing methods of campaigning, policy agenda, and the process of lawmaking; and she will explain the short and long-term implications of these changes for American politics.

The presentation will be open to the public.
