Borrowing Privileges

Faculty, staff and students must present their own current University photo ID to borrow library materials. Borrowing privileges may not be transferred to another borrower. Borrowers are responsible for all materials charged out on their card. Cards and borrowed materials should be kept in a secure location and never loaned to others. Borrowers are also responsible for the repair costs of any library items returned in damaged condition. (see also: Damaged Items)

No item limit for VSU Undergraduate/Graduate students, or staff or faculty.

Non-student patron groups established borrowing limits:

Community, Borrower     10
Dependent, VSU 10
Faculty, Retired 25
Staff, Retired 25
GIL Express Patrons 10 as from Odum Library alone
Valdosta Tech 10

A lost card should be reported immediately to Public Safety and a replacement obtained from the One Card Office.

It is the borrower's responsibility to maintain a current address (including e-mail) with the Library. Changes of address (including VSU email) should be reported immediately. Failure to receive notification does not relieve the borrower of the obligation to return materials when they are due. The Library is not responsible for undelivered mail. Other individuals who wish to use the library collections should consult the Circulation and Lending Services Coordinator, Steve Scheuler, at 229-333-5363.
