Spring 2010 eCore Registration Procedures

Registration Period: November 1, 2009-January 10, 2010

Classes Start: January 11, 2010

All students MUST log into their eCore classes before January 18, 2010 11:59 PM Eastern or they will be withdrawn.

eCore textbooks and lab kits are NOT at the VSU bookstore and currently Financial Aid cannot be used to purchase these materials. Please see the eCore Textbook webpage for textbook listing & ordering information.

Add/Drop: January 11-January 15, 2010

Please note: If you plan to add an eCore class during the first week of classes, remember that it will take additional time to order textbooks and lab kits.

You will NOT register for Spring 2010 eCore classes through VSU Banner. 

Registration for Spring 2010 eCore course(s) should be completed through the Georgia OnMyLine (GOML) student portal during the VSU registration period: November 1, 2009-January 10, 2010. 

To register on the GOML Student Portal you MUST meet the following requirements:

  1. Received your final acceptance from VSU and know your BlazeNet e-mail address. (Finding your Blazenet and Blazemail password)

  2. View the eCore Online Orientation and successfully complete the quiz at the end of the orientation. (REQUIRED for all new eCore students)

  3. Met all course prerequisites (if there are any). (See our advisement handout for details: eCore-advising-vsu.pdf )

  4. Contact your Academic Advisor to have your advising registration flag lifted. (Don't know who your Academic Advisor is? Contact Distance Learning (ecore@valdosta.edu -or- 229-245-6490) for assistance.)

  5. Clear any other holds from your VSU Banner record.  Please check VSU Banner to see if you have a hold.

PLEASE ALLOW 48 HOURS (during business hours, ex: If you submit your quiz Friday-Sunday, you may not be able to access the system until the following Tuesday), after successfully completing the eCore Online Orientation Quiz for your GOML Student Portal Account to be activated AFTER your holds are removed, AND you have completed the eCore Online Orientation.

eCore REGISTRATION Instructions

Step 1.

Once you are cleared to register, you will complete registration for eCore classes via the GOML Course Registration System.  This registration system supports University System of Georgia Collaborative Programs and is completely independent from the Banner Registration System used for other VSU programs. It may take up to 2 business days for you to receive access to this system.  If you have difficulty logging in, please check that you are using the correct login information (listed below) and allow up to 2 days to obtain system access.

To log into the GOML Course Registration system for the first time:

The Student Registration Guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to register for classes through the Georgia ONmyLINE (GOML) registration system.

Your log in information for the GOML System is:
  • Username: VSU BlazeNet e-mail address in its entirety (astudent@valdosta.edu)
  • Password: 8-digit birthday using 4-digit year (MMDDYYYY).
    (for example, if you were born on March 2, 1989, your password would look like this: 03021989)

If you cannot log into the Registration system, you may need your password reset. Contact eCore Administration (during business hours) at 1-678-839-5300 -or- the Georgia ONmyLINE (GOML) Online Support Center (GOSC) at 1-866-588-5285. Be sure to identify yourself as an eCore student.

Step 2.

Once inside the portal, click on “Online Registration” (at top or on left menu) > your current registration status will be listed > After ensuring that you have no holds > Click “Begin Online Registration” or “Modify Online Registration” > available terms will be listed.

Step 3.

After selecting the desired term, under the desired course, click the + symbol to expand and view the course sections and seats available.

Step 4.

Click the + Add symbol to add a course section. See the top right of the web screen for more help with the symbols. (see below)

Step 5.

Once you’ve Added a course section, if there are seats available, it will appear in the bottom half of the page, under the heading “Selected Courses” (shown below). To add another course section, click the appropriate + Add icon again, etc. Click Proceed to Final Step to View your registration schedule. (see below)

*** To Waitlist if a class is full: If you try and + Add a course section that is full you will be asked if you wish to Waitlist. Click Yes to place your name on the course waitlist. Notice the course will appear in the Selected Courses section of your registration page with a status of Waitlist. Your institution will notify you if your registration has been accepted for the course and your name has been removed from the wait list.

Step 6.

Select the Register/Drop button to confirm your Registration: (see below)

Step 7. COMPLETE YOUR REGISTRATION BY PAYING FOR CLASSES

To complete your registration you must pay for your classes through the VSU Banner Student Information System. Please allow up to 2 business days after you complete your Georgia ONmyLINE (GOML) course registration for your course schedule and tuition amount due to be posted to your student account.  If you applied for Financial Aid, please contact the VSU Office of Financial Aid for information on disbursement 229-333-5935.
