VSU's Annual Experiential Learning Expo features students and faculty or staff mentors discussing their participation in a variety of co-curricular and curricular experiential activities, including internships, service learning, student teaching, study away/abroad, course-based undergraduate research, clinicals, and practicums. Through experiential learning, students learn to critically evaluate problems, engage with stakeholders, and work within collaborative teams.   

Develop the mindset and competencies for a variety of careers.

Presenting to an audience helps build important competencies in experiential learning by strengthening communication, confidence, and critical thinking skills. It also serves as a public display of competency, allowing students to demonstrate the applicability of the skills and knowledge they have developed through their course-based learning and co-curricular experience to careers and real-world challenges.  

The Fall Expo embodies Valdosta State University’s commitment to stewardship of place by actively involving students and faculty in projects that address local and regional needs while creating broader impacts far beyond the local community. It provides a platform for students to publicly demonstrate their classroom competencies while showcasing the university’s dedication to collaboration, innovation, and community partnership.
