Embedded Librarian Request Form

This form is intended for faculty and staff of Valdosta State University to use to request Virtual Library Support for their course. Requests should be placed with at least two weeks' notice when possible. The librarian will contact you by email to talk about how you would like to collaborate.

Library interaction in a course is most effective when students have an extensive research assignment that requires them to use library resources. It is also helpful for course instructors to refer students' research questions to the embedded librarian. If your course requires basic research, or you would like students to have a library refresher, please consider Tier One as an option! While a librarian is not directly in the course, students still can reach out via LiveChat.

To best utilize our new Virtual Library Support program, please visit our guide to Tiers of Virtual Library Support. Our new Virtual Library Support program allows instructors to select the level of involvement and interaction that the librarian will have in the course, giving you as the instructor the option of customizing the experience for your students.

  • Tier One– Targeted Support
Tier Two – Targeted Support + Librarian Interaction ** Tier Two is only available to online or hybrid courses that include an extensive research project**
  • PLEASE NOTE: If you would like a librarian to speak with your class (online or in person) about research strategies and information literacy without having a librarian added to your course, please complete the Library Instruction Request form, or contact Catherine Bowers at csbowers@valdosta.edu for more information
