The 30th Anniversary and Induction ceremony on May 29, 2012 was an overwhelming success with more than 100 attendees from the Valdosta area.  Forty-two new members were inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International including 39 BSN students, 3 MSN students and one community nurse leader.  James Holland, MSN, PhDc, Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, presented the keynote address, “Heart Failure – Does Health Literacy Affect Self-Management?”  In addition, Stephen Shirlock, MSN, Undergraduate Coordinator for the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, provided an overview of the 41st Biennial Convention that he attended as one of the Epsilon Pi delegates.  Planning is already underway for next year’s event.  Members are encouraged to contact any of the Board members to get involved.
