To All Future Education Blazers,

Motivational speaker Rita Pearson once said, “Every child needs a champion; An adult who will never give up on them.”

If you have the passion to be a champion for a child in a classroom, I invite you to become a VSU Blazer and part of one of our extraordinary education preparation programs.  In 1906, VSU was established and over the next few years trained women going into the field of education.  Now, fast forward to the 21st century, and VSU still provides educational programs that prepare students to teach in all grade levels and most content areas.

If you are seeking your initial degree and certification in elementary, middle level, or secondary education, please review our BSED programs.  If you are considering a second career, or you always knew teaching could be in your future, look at our MAT programs.  Maybe you are a mid-level career teacher seeking advanced degrees to support your educational goals, look at the options in our M.Ed and Ed.S programs.

The Department of Teacher Education is here to support and help you determine the best pathway possible for your success.  The outstanding reputation for our educational programs is known across the region and state.  I hope you find what you are looking for at VSU and in one of the programs in Teacher Education.  We want to be your champion!
