CSD Blazing Alumni

The Blazing CSD alumni Award is presented annually to at least one exceptional graduate alumnus of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) at Valdosta State University. Nominees for the award must have demonstrated exceptional or significant contributions in one or more of the following areas: profession, community/society, department/university, leadership roles, creative endeavors, or other accomplishments.

Edgar Vincent Clark (Vince) is a distinguished SLP and VSU graduate. He is known for his presentations to the public and is nationally regarded for his presentations on a variety of pioneering topics in the field. Vince continually strives to support his alma mater via mentorships, seminars, and more. He currently serves as an adjunct professor in the department. Vince is an active member of the Georgia Speech-Language Hearing Association (GSHA) and a Past President. He was previously named Georgia's Clinician of the Year, received the Bob Hull Leadership Award, and was named the 2013 Alumni of the Year for the Dewar College of Education and Human Services at Valdosta State University (he was the first speech-language pathologist to receive this honor). Vince is a past appointee to the Georgia State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. Currently, Vince provides clinical & sales/marketing consulting to various companies and organizations. Based on his leadership and service to the department and profession, Vince Clark was a highly preferred inaugural recipient of the Blazing CSD Alumni Award.
