Blazin' Brigade guard is built on fundamental technique that can be quickly learned and cleaned efficiently. We accept and place students based on technique, ability to quickly make adjustments in individual and group settings, overall attitude, and preparation.

AUDITIONS FOR FALL 2026

2026 VSU Color Guard Auditions
Saturday, April 25th
Time: TBD
The audition is a clinic-based learning assessment - all levels are encouraged to attend. Over the course of the day, students will be led through a series of exercises to develop dance fundamentals, flag and weapon technique, as well as learn a brief routine. Students will be assessed on their coachability, learning aptitude, technique, and retention of material.
For the audition, all participants must wear solid black rehearsal attire. 

Video auditions will be excepted by any one unable to attend the in-person audition day- to set up a video audition please contact our VSU Guard Instructor, LaCarey Hunley - hunleylacarey@gmail.com 

 

Video Auditions are due by April 25th to be considered for the 2026 team.

 

All accepted members of the color guard, must be enrolled at VSU for Fall '26 and take MUSC 3880 - Marching Band. For participation, all members receive a monetary ($$$) service award at the end of the Fall semester.
