Individuals are afforded the following rights throughout any conduct process:

A. Right to receive written notice of any alleged violation against them that includes pertinent information about the allegations and next steps.
B. Right to request reasonable accommodations through the Access Office if needed to participate in the process.
C. Right to a fair, confidential, and objective student meeting and/or hearing (when required).

D. Right to present evidence and question the complainant and/or witness during the hearing, if available.
E. Right to not give testimony against oneself.
F. Right to share their perspective of the allegations.
G. Right to accept responsibility for or refute the allegations.
H. Right to have an advisor of their choice.
I. Right to receive written notice of the decision, with rationale of the findings.
J. Right to appeal decisions where sanctions are given.
V. Student Responsibilities
A. Read, understand, and abide by the Student Code of Conduct and all other university policies related to students and/or organizations/groups.
B. Be truthful and forthcoming throughout the entire process.
C. Regularly check your VSU email.
D. Complete any sanctions assigned by the deadline given.
E. Members of student organizations/groups are expected to report alleged violations of the code perpetrated by other members.
