Teacher Certificate Renewal in Georgia

Effective July 1, 2017, the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) permanently discontinued Professional Learning Units (PLUs) as a renewal requirement. New regulations have changed continuing education for teachers to a "job-embedded model that will take place within a professional learning community" - generally within a school or local unit of administration (LUA). Self-paced/Open Entry Online

In partnership with Virtual Education Software, Inc. (VESi), we offer professional learning unit (PLU) and continuing education unit (CEU) courses for K-12 educators. These interactive courses provide expert instruction at a pace that fits your schedule. You choose your start date. You have 6 months access.

6-Week, Instructor-Led Online

We also proudly partner with ED2GO to offer courses for professional learning units (PLUs) and continuing education units (CEUs). Lessons in these courses are paced out over a six-week period. Schedule of start dates can be found with each course description.

Advanced Placement® Summer Institutes

VSU Continuing Education is an approved provider of week-long Advanced Placement Summer Institutes® (APSI®) for teachers committed to the pursuit of enhanced teaching and learningAPSI® 2018 will be held July 16 - 20, 2018.

Scheduled subject areas are AP English Literature & Composition, AP Psychology, and AP Government & Politics - US.

Please note: Courses approved for PLU/CEU credit are not convertible to academic credit/semester hours.
