The staff of the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) at Valdosta State University is dedicated to serve the needs of migrant/seasonal farm worker students who are pursuing quality education. CAMP not only helps students achieve their dreams of obtaining an university diploma, but also the opportunity to provide a better life for themselves and their families.
Parents and students can count on my background of migrant worker and CAMP alumnus to understand the many difficulties experienced during the transition from high school to college. In addition, my professional experience with migrant and Latino educational programs will ensure that VSU CAMP provides quality services and family-like environment.
V-State CAMP is the only program in Georgia at a 4-year comprehensive university, which can make our campus can seem overwhelming and intimidating; however, through CAMP’s holistic approach to education, students will thrive academically, socially, and culturally to prepare them for the university and professional world.
Although CAMP only provides financial support during the student’s freshman year, our commitment to them does not end at the end of that first year. CAMP will provide continuing support while attending VSU to ensure that students have a family away from home because once a CAMPer, you’re a CAMPer for life!
We look forward to have you join our V-State CAMP family!
