Career Opportunities Hosts Last Chance Job Fair April 27

VALDOSTA — The Office of Career Opportunities at Valdosta State University will host its Spring 2017 Last Chance Job Fair from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, in the Student Union.

Current students and alumni planning to attend should dress professionally, arrive early, and bring several copies of their resume. Those who wish to receive advice and feedback from the Career Opportunities team before the event should take advantage of resume walk-in hours from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, and 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, April 27. 

A dozen or so employers representing a wide variety of career fields are scheduled to attend the Spring 2017 Last Chance Job Fair. They will be offering everything from full-time and part-time employment to internships, practicums, and cooperative education experiences to volunteer opportunities.

The Spring 2017 Last Chance Job Fair lineup includes American Red Cross of South Georgia, Chick-fil-A at Valdosta Mall, Data Software Services (Fresh Beginnings), Georgia State Patrol, Little Angels Pre-School and Child Care Center Inc., New Hire Solutions, ResCare, Sleep Number Corporation, Boys and Girls Clubs of Valdosta, Wild Adventures, and Valdosta-Lowndes County Family YMCA.

VSU’s Office of Career Opportunities strives to provide career development and awareness, experiential learning/cooperative education, and professional employment opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students and alumni. Its staff collaborates with the university’s employer and community partners to develop the employment potential of students and graduates and to utilize their innovative, intellectual talents. It is located in the University Center, Entrance 5.
