Sanderson Farms Hosts 2017 Super Chicken Road Show

VALDOSTA — Valdosta State University students and staff will take an inside look at the poultry industry when they participate in the 2017 Sanderson Farms Super Chicken Road Show March 30-31.
 
Delois Hargett, employer relations coordinator in the Office of Career Opportunities, Carla Gervin, career strategies coordinator in the Harley Langdale Jr. College of Business Administration’s Career Strategies Center, and 28 students will have an opportunity to see every step of the entire Sanderson Farms operation, from hatchery to processing and packaging. They will also meet with Sanderson Farms representatives who will share their industry knowledge with students pursuing internships and full-time employment in the poultry industry.
 
The Sanderson Farms Super Chicken Road Show is sponsored by the Office of Career Opportunities.
 
The two-day event will begin with a reception and dinner at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, at the University of Georgia’s Tifton Campus Conference Center. A tour of the Moultrie production and processing facilities will be conducted on Friday, March 31. The event will conclude with lunch.
 
Sanderson Farms is a fully integrated poultry processing company engaged in the production, processing, marketing, and distribution of fresh and frozen chicken and other prepared food items.
