VALDOSTA — Valdosta State University Campus Wellness will host the 11th annual Benefits and Wellness Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, on the third floor of the Student Union. All faculty, staff, students, and retirees are welcome to attend.
More than 65 exhibitors will have representatives available to offer information about health, wellness, retirement, and benefit plans. Attendees will have the opportunity to enter giveaways, win prizes, purchase discounted passes to Wild Adventures and enjoy free massages, manicures, fitness demonstrations, and more provided by local businesses.
Starting at 9 a.m., health professionals will offer free glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure, and body mass index screenings. Through the University System of Georgia’s employee health initiative, the Student Health Center will administer free flu shots for faculty, staff, and retirees while supplies last. Flu shots will then be available for $20 for faculty, staff, and retirees. Flu shots are $10 for VSU students.
The VSU Wellness Committee promotes an increased awareness and practice of a healthy lifestyle by offering a variety of educational activities and programs that address the social, intellectual, occupational, spiritual, physical, and emotional wellness of the university’s faculty, staff, and student population.
