Peach Party Bingo Raises Funds For PSST!

VALDOSTA — Peach State Summer Theatre (PSST!) will host its seventh annual Peach Party Bingo fundraiser at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 27, at Valdosta Country Club.

Admission is $50 and includes three Bingo cards, as well as a potentially tax deductible gift to PSST! of $24. Attendees will have the opportunity to “rent” additional Bingo cards at the event, including a special game card for an original painting by local artist Annette Crosby.

Throughout the evening, PSST! friends and fans will relax and have fun as they play Bingo and snack on hors d’oeuvres; everyone is encouraged to wear flowered shirts, shorts, and flip-flops to the event. Prizes will be awarded, including the grand-round prize provided by Steel’s Jewelry.

Company members from the 2016 Peach State Summer Theatre season will provide entertainment.

Peach Party Bingo is sponsored by Young, Thagard, Hoffman, Smith, Lawrence, and Shenton LLP.

Tickets may be purchased by calling the PSST! Box Office at (229) 259-7770 before 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22.

Checks should be made payable to the Valdosta State University Foundation, with “PSST! Peach Party” written in the memo section.

Peach State Summer Theatre, or PSST!, is Valdosta’s premiere professional summer stock theatre. Dozens of singers, dancers, technicians, managers, and creators gather on the campus of Valdosta State University for 10 weeks each summer, and during that time, they rehearse, build, and present three musicals in rotating repertory. The 2016 season opened June 3 with a 15-performance run of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” and also includes “Ring of Fire,” which opened June 17 and runs through July 16, and “Nice Work If You Can Get It,” which opens June 24 and runs through July 17.

The 2016 Peach State Summer Theatre season marks the 27th year of VSU producing professional theatre for the city of Valdosta, the state of Georgia, and beyond. From 1990 to 2004 VSU produced the Jekyll Island Musical Theatre Festival. In 2005 the summer theatre program was relocated to the university and renamed PSST!

The Georgia Legislature designated Valdosta State’s summer stock theatre program the Official Musical Theatre of the State of Georgia.

VSU’s Jacque Wheeler serves as the artistic director of Peach State Summer Theatre. H. Duke Guthrie is the managing director.
