Students, Faculty Invited to Super Chicken Road Show

VALDOSTA – Valdosta State University students and faculty are invited to join the Office of Career Opportunities for the 2015 Sanderson Farms Super Chicken Road Show March 5-6. The deadline to sign up is Thursday, Feb. 19.

This two-day event will begin with a reception and dinner at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, at The University of Georgia’s Tifton Campus Conference Center. Tours of the Adel and Moultrie production and processing facilities will be conducted on Friday, March 6. The event will end with lunch at the Blue Sky Grill in Moultrie.

“Attendees will be intrigued seeing the entire operation from beginning to end,” said Delois Hargett, employer relations coordinator for VSU Career Opportunities. “The tour demonstrates every step of production from the hatchery and feeding mill to processing and packaging.”

Current students and alumni interested in an internship or a full-time career opportunity with Sanderson Farms are encouraged to attend. Sanderson Farms representatives will be on hand to share their industry knowledge and provide insight to individuals pursuing a career in the poultry industry.

The Super Chicken Road Show is free to all VSU students and faculty. Lodging will be provided in Tifton, and participants will be reimbursed for mileage.
