Traycee Martin named interim vice president for finance and administration

Valdosta—Valdosta State University President William J. McKinney has named Traycee Martin interim vice president for finance and administration effective March 3, 2014.

“Traycee brings a depth of both knowledge and experience to this position.  She is well-respected both on campus and within the University System of Georgia.,” said McKinney. “As higher education continues to navigate an increasingly challenging economic new normal, the role of chief financial officer becomes more and more important. I am thrilled that Traycee has accepted this challenge. She has my full faith and confidence.”

Martin joined Valdosta State in 1995 as manager of accounting and budgets and has held several positions including associate vice president for finance and administration since November 2010.  Martin held the interim vice president for finance and administration position previously from October 2008 to October 2010.

Martin is a certified public accountant. She earned a Master of Public Administration degree from VSU in 2011 and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Georgia in 1992. She is a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

The Division of Finance and Administration oversees the departments of Auxiliary Services, Environmental & Occupational Safety, Financial Services, Human Resources and Employee Development, Physical Plant and Facilities Planning, University Police, Procurement, Logistics and Distributions, Campus Mail Services, and Printing and Copying Services.
