Science Saturday Continues with 'Masters of the Universe' Nov. 16
VALDOSTA – Valdosta State University’s Department of Physics, Astronomy and Geosciences (PAG) will host the next Science Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Nov. 16, 2013 in Nevins Hall. The theme will be “Masters of the Universe.”
PAG aims to lead participants in exploring the natural environment from constellations, to rocks formed beneath the ground, from invisible laws of physics, to human and environment interaction with hands-on activities.
Activities include geographical trivial pursuit, physics demonstrations, exploring stars and planets, learning how other nations have built their cities, and discovering the natural beauty of rocks and minerals.
The Science Saturday Series is sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences’ STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) initiative, which encourages students and community members to become more involved in these disciplines.
