VSU Holds 2012 Chili Fest

VALDOSTA -- Valdosta State University will hold its 2012 Chili Fest from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28 at the P.E. complex.

Hosted by the VSU Athletic Office, the Chili Fest will allow people to sample chili prepared by various business and individuals. The chili will be judged based on flavor, aroma, consistency, texture, color and spice. The winner will receive a $250 gift card from Sunset Farm Foods and a $250 gift card Harveys. The runner-up will receive $100 gift cards and the third place winner will receive $50 gift cards.

“With the temperatures dropping, it definitely feels like chili weather,” said Ric Sisler, athletic director of sales and marketing. “Paired with Blazer basketball, it’s a great way to spend a winter weekend and at the same time sample, what I am sure will be, some great chili.”

The Chili Fest will be followed by Blazers and Lady Blazers basketball games against West Florida.

A registration fee of $25 must be submitted for all Chili Fest entries. For an entry form, contact the VSU Athletic Office at (229) 245-6402.
