Kang Named Editor for Biomolecules Journal

VALDOSTA -- Dr. Jonghoon Kang, assistant professor of biology, has been appointed to the editorial board for Biomolecules journal.

Biomolecules is a new publication with OMICS Publishing Group, an open access database of articles that focus on various sciences. The journal publishes peer-reviewed manuscripts that pertain to biogenic substances and their biological functions, structures, interactions with molecules and their microenvironment as well as biological systems.

As an editor, Kang will review manuscripts and make recommendations for publication.

Earlier this year, Kang was named editor of another OMICS publication titled Journal of Clinical and Cellular Immunology. Kang serves on the editorial board alongside professors from institutions such as Yale, Oxford and Stanford.

Kang teaches cell biology, immunology, and molecular biophysics classes at VSU. His research interests include drug development, heparin-protein interactions, immunology and biophysics.

Kang has published 26 peer-reviewed papers. During his three-year tenure with the university, he has published ten papers, seven of which are co-authored by VSU students.
