Donate Shoes for Japan Relief Wednesday

VALDOSTA -- Valdosta State University's Office of Volunteer Services will collect shoes to benefit victims of the devastating tsunami in Japan during a Soles4Souls shoe drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, in the Bailey Science Center.

The shoe drive will be held in conjunction with the inaugural Volunteer Service Fair.

Attendees are encouraged to bring gently worn shoes for men, women and children in all sizes to a drop off location or get involved with Volunteer Services by joining the effort as a volunteer. Anyone who donates will receive a free t-shirt.

Established in the aftermath of the tsunami that hit Southeast Asia in 2004, Soles4Souls has been instrumental in providing footwear for millions affected by disaster. The non-profit organization accepts both monetary and shoe donations from footwear companies, retailers, churches, other organizations and individuals.
