Sorority Sponsors 'Diamonds in the Dugout' Fundraiser

VALDOSTA -- Alpha Delta Pi Sorority invites students, faculty and staff to participate in its inaugural Diamonds in the Dugout fundraiser during the first weekend in March. The two-day event will be held at the Valdosta State Recreation fields and include a home run derby on Friday, March 4 and a softball tournament on Saturday, March 5.

The cost for individuals to participate in the home run derby is $10 per person and the cost for teams to participate in the softball tournament is $100 per team. Softball teams must have at least 10 players and no more than 15 players. The winner of the home run derby receives a cash prize and winners of the softball tournament will receive a trophy. The deadline to register is Feb. 13.

All proceeds from the event will go to the Ronald McDonald House Foundation.

"The ladies of Alpha Delta Pi are very excited about our new "Diamonds in the Dugout" tournament and we look forward to getting our community involved in raising money for Ronald McDonald House Charities," said Kasey Barber, Alpha Delta Pi’s public relations chair.
