VSU Hosts GISA State Literary Competition March 16-18

VALDOSTA -- Valdosta State University will host the Georgia Independent Schools Association’s State Literary competition all day Tuesday through Thursday, March 16-18, in the Fine Arts Building.

For the fifth consecutive year, high school students from around the state will tune their voices and present dynamic oral presentations against the state’s finest in categories such as men’s quartet, women’s trio, solo, extemporaneous speaking, oral interpretation and more. While VSU students are vacationing and visiting their parents back at home during their annual spring break, professors and local professionals will judge the events for GISA classification A, AA and AAA performers.

New to this year's event is an essay category in the speech area.

Each year, VSU provides a special place for GISA to host its annual event, while giving students the opportunity to perform in a college setting and network with potential professors.
