Grimes to Speak at Spring Langdale Lecture

VALDOSTA -- Valdosta State University alumnus Jadrien Grimes will speak at the spring installment of the Harley Langdale Jr. Lecture Series at 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, in Pound Hall Auditorium at the Rea and Lillian Steele North Campus.

Grimes, a native of Damascus, Ga. earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from Valdosta State in 2006. Following graduation, he accepted a position with Wells Fargo Financial in Suwanee, Ga., where he served for more than a year. The young entrepreneur then established his own real estate investment company, Jadrien R. Grimes Enterprise, LLC, fulfilling a lifelong dream.

“You are who you hang around,” Grimes claims, crediting a lot of his success to his involvement as a VSU student with Students In Free Enterprise. Through SIFE, Grimes learned a variety of skills -- networking, ethics, leadership skills and business strategies -- which helped propel him in the business world. In fact, Grimes said it was SIFE that helped him realize his purpose in life -- to positively impact the lives of others by inspiring and motivating them to achieve their goals and dreams.

Defining success as the ability to discover and achieve your purpose in life, Grimes said he believes that firm faith in God, hard work, dedication, a winner's mentality and perseverance will bring success. His philosophy is that people who are passionate about their jobs will never have to work a day in their lives. His lecture “New Generation -- New Goals” will surely inspire all who attend.

This spring’s Langdale Lecture Series is free and open to the public. Call LCOBA at (229) 333-5991 for more information.
