Freeman Honored by SAACURH

VALDOSTA - Chad Freeman was selected as the September 2009 Regional Executive Board Member of the Month for the South Atlantic Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (SAACURH).

As vice president for leadership for NRHH, Freeman is working to increase member involvement in the organization through community service and campus recognition efforts. He also serves on the SAACURH regional board as the parliamentarian for board meetings.

Nontalie Morrow, national communications coordinator for VSU’s Residence Hall Association (RHA), nominated Freeman based on his work in August.

“His shared vision has given us something to strive for at the end of the year,” said Morrow, former NRHH president. “Chad’s love for this organization truly inspires all of us to become a stronger and well rounded organization.”

Freeman laid out a vision for the year by establishing expectations from the advisor, executive board, committees and general assembly. He created a semester calendar based on the four pillars of NRHH - leadership, service, recognition and scholastics. Freeman also planned a three-hour summit to educate members of VSU’s RHA regarding NRHH principles.
