VSU Hosts 15th Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium

VALDOSTA - Valdosta State University's College of Arts and Sciences will host the 15th annual Undergraduate Research Symposium, beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 16, and continuing from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 17.

Students will present posters displaying findings for research projects ranging from applied theoretical mathematics to fungal growth patterns and genetic alterations. During Thursday's session, college awards will be presented at 7 p.m. and department heads will recognize participating students. Best poster awards will be presented during Friday's session.

The Council on Undergraduate Research at Valdosta State University seeks to engage students from all disciplines within the college in meaningful, independent and supervised research experiences. The council also provides a forum for faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences to foster undergraduate research in their own disciplines and gain more knowledge of undergraduate research in other fields.

The annual spring symposium is open with free admission so members of the Valdosta State University and local communities can learn from outstanding undergraduate research.
