VSU Hosts Spring Wellness Fair Tuesday, March 24

VALDOSTA - Valdosta State University’s Wellness Committee will host the spring wellness fair from 9 a.m. until noon Tuesday, March 24, in the Hugh C. Bailey Science Center atrium and the Pedestrian Walkway.

Guests can participate in a variety of wellness screenings, including blood pressure and cholesterol, enjoy free massages and receive information on various wellness topics. Those interested in the outdoors can learn about the Center for Outdoor Recreational Experiences or sign up for the Wellness Committee’s Walk to Your Summer Vacation contest to win a three-day cruise for two.

Those concerned about blood sugar levels can take part in a free glucose screening beginning at 8 a.m.; the committee urges these participants to not eat or drink after midnight beforehand to ensure a more accurate reading.

“This is our third annual Spring Health and Wellness Fair,” Wellness Committee Co-chair Becky Murphy said. “Every year, it keeps growing with more and more vendors from on and off campus.”

Feedback from last year’s evaluation said participants benefitted from the health information and wellness screenings and enjoyed the fun, laid-back atmosphere.

The free event will offer refreshments and chances to win prizes and giveaways. Call Becky Murphy at (229) 333-5105 for more information.
