VSU Police Investigate Bomb Threats

Valdosta State University received a second bomb threat on Sunday, November 4, 2007. VSU’s Police Department evacuated Centennial Hall at approximately 10 p.m., in response to a bomb threat that was placed through a call to the Emergency 911 Center. Students and staff were escorted to a secure location. Moody Air Force Base K-9 bomb team assisted in clearing the building. Residents were allowed back in the residence hall at approximately 1:30 a.m. The first bomb threat was placed on October 26, 2007 and is still under investigation. VSU’s Police Department is seeking assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation regarding both threats and if an individual or individuals are identified they will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. A $2,500 reward is offered for information leading to the arrest and successful prosecution of an individual or individuals involved in the October 26 and/or November 4, 2007 bomb threats.
