University Responds to Threat

Valdosta State University’s Police Department evacuated two residence halls, Centennial Hall East and West, at approximately 3 a.m., Friday, October 26, 2007, in response to a phone call to the Emergency 911 Center. The caller stated that an explosive device was located in Centennial Hall East. Students and staff were escorted to a secure location. Two units from Moody Air Force Base K-9 bomb team assisted in clearing the building. Residents were allowed back in both facilities at approximately 7:20 a.m. VSU’s Police Department is conducting the investigation.
