Valdosta State University will hold its summer 2006 commencement ceremony on Saturday, July 29, at 10 a.m., in the P.E. Complex on Baytree Road for the 500 students who have applied for graduation.

VSU is celebrating the centennial anniversary of its founding in 1906, when legislation passed by the Georgia General Assembly created the college. In recognition of its rich history, VSU is commemorating these centennial years from 2006 to 2013 with a wide variety of activities to honor VSU's proud past, present and future. Graduating students will receive specially designed centennial diplomas as a memento of the historical and significant benchmark in the life of the regional university.
