Murphy Appointed Customer Service Champion

Becky Murphy, assistant director of Employee Development, Employee and Organizational Development (a unit of Human Resources), was recently appointed by President Ronald M. Zaccari as a Customer Service Champion (CSC) for Valdosta State University. As part of Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue's Customer Service Initiative, Murphy will join 40 champions throughout the State of Georgia selected to help their agencies lead customer service improvement efforts, develop customer service improvement plans, lead the plan implementation process, and identify and share best practices.

Plans from all USG institutions will be compiled into a USG Customer Service Improvement Plan with performance measures due to the Governor's Office of Consumer Affairs by June 30. Plans will be ready for implementation as of July 1, 2006.

The initiative helps meet an overall goal of becoming a faster, friendlier and easier organization with which Georgia's citizens may interact.
