VSU Gets New Director of Housing

Valdosta State University's search for a new director of housing has come to an end with the selection of Dr. Thomas Hardy who will start at his new post effective September 19. Hardy worked at Maryville College in Tennessee as a coordinator of housing then moved to the University of Alabama where he served as the assistant and associate director of housing for more than six years before deciding to take the post as VSU's director of housing.

"We are pleased to have Dr. Hardy join the VSU team. His experience and enthusiasm will be extremely valuable to us as we continue to expand our Housing and Residential Life program," said Dr. Kurt Keppler, VSU Vice President for Student Affairs.

Hardy received his Bachelor of Science in history at St. Mary's College of Maryland, his Master of Science in student affairs at Florida State University, and his doctorate in higher education administration at the University of Alabama.

Hardy brings along with him to Valdosta his wife and two children, ages five and two.
