Bass Chosen As VSU Bookstore Director

Bethanie Bass has been named director of the Valdosta State University bookstore. Rob Kellner, director of auxiliary services, conducted a nation-wide search for applicants.

"We are excited about the potential and energy Bethanie brings to the position," Kellner said.

Bass began her new assignment in May. She had been the general merchandise manager for the bookstore since 1999.

She will work not only within the bookstore, but also in conjunction with the other operations managed by the bookstore. These operations include the store on Kings Bay campus and the markets in Langdale and Centennial Hall.

"My goals for the operations on campus are to maintain the same quality of service and to continue to grow with the university," Bass said.

She was recently named one of the future leaders of the bookstore industry in College Store Executive's 20 Women To Watch.

Bass earned her undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University and taught English for seven years in La. before moving to Valdosta.
