The Valdosta State University College of Arts and Sciences will host the 11th Undergraduate Research Symposium on Thursday and Friday, April 14th and 15th. The public is invited to attend the annual event.

The festivities begin on Thursday night with a reception from 6:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. in the atrium of the Biology/Chemistry Building. Posters will be on display in the atrium and students will be available to discuss their poster presentations. The opening plenary session will start at 7:00 p.m. in the Biology/Chemistry Auditorium. Departmental awards and certificates for students participating in the Symposium will be distributed by department heads.

The Symposium is one of the highlights of the academic year as students present findings of their original research to the VSU community and to the public. Research topics cover a wide range, from the sciences to the humanities.

Five panels of paper presentations will be held throughout the day in the Biology/Chemistry auditorium beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. A poster session will also be held on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
