VSU to open New Satellite Office at South Georgia College

Valdosta State University's Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will open a new satellite office at South Georgia College (SGC) in Douglas, Ga., on April 26.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will commence at 2:00 p.m. at the office located at 106 Richey Hall. The event is coinciding with "National Small Business Week."

The new office will allow VSU to have a permanent location and on campus presence at SGC. The business consultants will be better able to serve the clients in that region. VSU did not previously have an office located in that area.

The Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce and SGC were key contributors to the venture.

"The new office is wonderful in the sense that it provides a convenient, secure location to attend to the needs of the area small business owners," said Suzanne Barnett, director of SBDC. "We are really looking forward to the new partnership with South Georgia College and the Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce."

SBDC is a public service unit that provides business and economic development assistance for Atkinson, Berrien, Brooks, Clinch, Coffee, Cook, Echols, Lanier, Lowndes, and Thomas counties. As part of the Harley Langdale, Jr. College of Business Administration, the SBDC is an essential resource for small businesses.
