Africa: Achievements and Challenges in the 21st Century

Africa: Achievements and Challenges in the 21st Century is the theme of the 2004 Focus Series co-sponsored by VSU's Departments of African-American Studies, Sociology, Anthropology & Criminal Justice, and Political Science along with the Center for International Programs. The 2004 Focus Series includes five lectures and seven films. All presentations, which are scheduled from January through April, are open to the public and free of charge. The films are offered in conjunction with the Cinema International film series. ?Africa at the Beginning of a New Century? is the scheduled lecture for Monday, January 26 at 7:00 p.m. in the University Center Magnolia Room #2. The guest lecturer will be Akanmu Adebayo, Executive Director, Institute for Global Initiatives, Kennesaw State University.
