Bank of America check supports VSU Arts

Mike Dulan (fourth from the left), executive vice president of Bank of America in Georgia, and members of the local Valdosta Bank of America Advisory Board presented a $250,000 check on May 22 to Valdosta State University. The funds will be used to help the total programs of VSU's ArtSouth activities and will also assist with the construction of a future Fine Arts Facility. ArtSouth includes all of the outreach activities of the academic departments of the VSU College of the Arts. ArtSouth programs include the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra, the Jekyll Island Musical Theatre Festival and other activities that expose the arts to the South Georgia region. Dulan said Bank of America is especially pleased to support the VSU program because of ArtSouth's role in bringing the arts to rural school children throughout the area. ArtSouth has established a strong presence in the region by providing programs, advice and technical assistance to schools, arts support organizations and civic groups. Pictured with Dulan (left to right) are Bank of America Advisory Board members Rusty Griffin; David Waller; Mike Harpe, who is also president of the Bank of America in Valdosta; Dulan; Dutton Miller; and Ray Devery, an Advisory Board member and vice president of Institutional Advancement at VSU.
