Slaymon leads VSU�s COBA Student Advising Center

Rozelle Slaymon has been named director of the College of Business Administration's Student Advising Center at Valdosta State University.

Slaymon, who assumed duties in June, is responsible for ensuring that undergraduate business students are taking the appropriate classes to earn their degrees.

"We advise freshmen and sophomores, making sure that they're on track for junior and senior level courses," Slaymon said. She also coordinates orientation for new business students.

"We want students to feel that they are a part of the College of Business Administration," Slaymon said. "It's really a good place for students to come to get advised�we want to make sure students succeed."

Before joining the College of Business Administration, Slaymon spent four years as a VSU residence hall director, where her duties included supervising and counseling students. She also served as an assistant to the VSU orientation coordinator.

Slaymon holds a Bachelor of Arts in mass communications/journalism from Savannah State University and a Master of Science in college personnel work from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Ind.
