  • Bachelor of Music in Performance (Classical):
    • 12 Major scales and arpeggios.
    • Chromatic scale (slurred; low Bb to high F or F#)
    • A, D, G, C Natural minor scales and arpeggios.
    • An etude (from the Ferling, Samie, Berbiguier etude books, or equivalent).
    • One or more movements from a work from the standard repertoire (Sonata-Creston, Sonata-Heiden, Concerto-Glazunov, Aria-Bozza, or equivalent).
  • Bachelor of Music in Performance (Jazz):
    • 12 Major scales and Major 7th arpeggios.
    • G Dorian scale and Minor 7th arpeggio. G Mixolydian scale and Dominant 7th arpeggio. G blues scale.
    • An etude (from the Snidero, Fishman, Mintzer etude books, or equivalent)
    • Standard tune (play the melody and improvise over the chord changes; using an Aebersold play-along is suggested).
  • Master of Music in Performance (Classical):
    • 12 Major scales and arpeggios, full range (16ths at quarter=100).
    • 12 Melodic Minor scales and arpeggios, full range (16ths at quarter=100).
    • Lyrical and technical etudes (from the Ferling, Berbiguier, Lacour etude books, or equivalent).
    • 2 contrasting works from the standard repertoire (Sonata-Creston, Sonata-Heiden, Concerto-Glazunov, or equivalent).
  • Master of Music in Performance (Jazz):
    • 12 Major scales and Major 7th arpeggios.
    • 12 Dorian scales and Minor 7th arpeggios.
    • 12 Mixolydian scales and Dominant 7th arpeggios.
    • Transcription performance, with recording.
    • Perform "All The Things You Are" (play the melody and improvise over the chord changes; using an Aebersold play-along is suggested).
    • Perform 2 contrasting standard tunes of your choice (play the melody and improvise over the chord changes; using an Aebersold play-along is suggested).
